          Lacey Township measures 84.6 square miles and is located in central Ocean County.  Bordering municipalities are Barnegat, Ocean Township, Berkeley Township, Manchester Township, and Woodland Township.  The large majority of the land in Lacey is protected as Pinelands or Wetlands.  The township is comprised of three main areas: Forked River, Lanoka Harbor, and Bamber.  There are several housing developments in Lacey Township, including one adult community.

          There are a large variety of businesses in Lacey Township, with the majority of them being located along Route 9 and Lacey Rd.  Several strip malls house everything from chain stores, to restaurants, to medical and legal offices.  The largest industry in the township is the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant, located in the southern portion of the township. 

          Numerous clubs and organizations are within Lacey Township, including Old Guard, Rotary, Knights of Columbus, several sports leagues, American Legion, and VFW, along with Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops. 

          Lacey Township School District has three elementary schools, housing grades K-4; another school for grades 5 and 6; and a middle school and high school, housing grades 7-12.

          There are a variety of recreational opportunities in Lacey Township.  These include several township parks and playgrounds, sports leagues, and Forked River State Marina.  Also located in the area is Popcorn Park Zoo on Lacey Rd., which is home to several exotic, domestic, and wild animals.

          Lacey offers many activities and events throughout the year, including a Christmas parade (December), Lacey Day (August), and the "Night of Lights" boat parade (August).
