            Little Egg Harbor Township measures 45 square miles and is located at the southern tip of Ocean County.  The Township borders Tuckerton and Great Bay.  There are numerous housing developments in the area, including several adult communities.    
            
Business in Little Egg Harbor is mostly made up of small, independent companies.  There are two grocery stores, several banks, restaurants, and gift shops.  Most of the local companies are related to the construction industry or the fishing and boating industry. These include hardware stores, bait and tackle shops, marinas, and boat repair shops.

            There are several clubs and organizations within the township, including the Great Bay Women´s Club, the Sand and Pines Garden Club, Pinelands Athletic Association, Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club, VFW, American Legion, and several Girl Scout and Boy Scout Troops.

            The township´s school district consists of an elementary school housing grades K-2 and an intermediate school housing grades 3-6.  The township is also home to Pinelands Regional Middle School and High School, which consists of grades 7-12.

            Many recreational activities abound in Little Egg Harbor.  These include two golf courses, a Senior Center, various spots for fishing and crabbing, and several playgrounds.  The township also has a recreation complex, which opened in 2001.  The complex is comprised of football fields, soccer fields, and an inline hockey rink, along with Little League and softball fields. 

            Little Egg Harbor offers many activities and events throughout the year, including Little Egg Harbor Family Day, an Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, a summer concert series, Earth Day clean-up, 4th of July parade, and a Miss Little Egg Harbor contest.
